Cuckoo Steps at Outwood, The railway cottages are still there
I was brought up in Outwood during the 1960s and  played out as a kid by the Cuckoo Steps near the Railway Cottages. The miners from Lofthouse Colliery used to give us their left over snap when they came off shift.

Chuggla Bunk, Ferry Lane, Stanley, now long gone.
As a child I lived in Lingwell Gate and passed the “ Madam Hall “ daily to and from school. I have a clear impression of Mr. Gledhill as he was frequently seen around the Hall. Could I please have a photograph of the Hall.

Madam Hall just after completion

The old prefabs at Ferry Lane, Stanley.
The workings are the old Stanley sand and gravel quarry, both my granddad, dad  and uncle worked there in the 50s.  My cousin Kevin Parkin and his family all lived in the prefabs up to the 1970s when they were demolished.

The photograph I would dearly love to have is of 26 First Avenue, Newton Hill. I have tried in vain to get a photograph with no luck. I would love to see the house, that is of course if it is still standing. I live in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, having been here since 1969. If it is possible I would really appreciate it.

Have you any photo’s of the Chapel that once stood in what now is Chapel Fold, Leeds road Outwood?.
The United Methodist Free Church is the Building on left for which the foundation stone was laid in 1908.
The building on right was the Sunday School and was added in 1932 at which time the church became part of the Wakefield Methodist Circuit, and the name Rehoboth was taken.

An old school friend was recently in touch and told me about your web site.  I found a photograph of myself as a little girl on the Bottomboat Chapel Panto.  It is the one with 6 little girls (2 groups of 3) and I am the third from the left.
